A few years ago we bought the wrong speedometer gearbox. Now that we finally have a working speedometer my brother and my erroneous ways have caught up with us. I am posting a couple of pictures of what we have, a gearbox with no apparent marking, a 2:1 gear ratio, cable turning counter clockwise when mounted on the front wheel, and a 22.5mm (.857") diameter hole. I have now seen the light and the speedometer cable for the M20 has to turn clockwise so:
1. Can anyone identify this gearbox?
2. Can anyone use it.
3. Does anyone have an M20 gearbox for sale or trade, used is good.
4. What is the ratio and hole diameter of the M20 gearbox.
And a different topic, after cleaning the movement of our S433M speedometer, it appears very fragile. Is it normally hard mounted or is there some sort of vibration isolation?
It's a standard offside rear wheel drive. C11's use a nearside speedo drive and i believe Bantams too, so that increases your potential of finding one.
