Hi, Has anyone got the thread size for the spigot & nut that goes through the rear brake drum, the reason I am asking is that I have just got a spindle & the various nuts from Russell's & the the spigot nut does not want to go on the original spigot I have run a 3/4" 20tpi through the nut which seems to be correct but still the nut will only go on a couple of threads & I do not want to bu**er it up.

You'll probably find that if it is a new one that there is too much plating on it, so you may have to run a die down its corresponding part

I have also found that the diameter of the two 'tongues' that project beyond the threaded part are also very (too)close to the root diameter of the thread and don't allow any free movement for the nut to engage the thread. A reduction of this diameter by .005"-.010" sometimes helps...Ian
