rebuilding the clutch on a 1950 plunger.

Hi all,
Am rebuilding the clutch on my M20 plunger ( 1950) and a bit stumped. The clutch bearing race assembly seems to project about 2 - 3 mm beyond the inside of the chainwheel plate so the even when the clutch driving centre plate is tightened down against the chainwheel plate the chainwheel plate still has about 2 - 3mm of movement along the race bearing..seems odd but cant see how else it could reassemble?, nor figure out why the brearing is in fact slightly thicker than the chainwell plate..
any clues would be much appreciated..
cheers
Davo

Re: rebuilding the clutch on a 1950 plunger.

Hi Davo,
It seems like your outer race is non standard. Both sides of the race do protrude from the chain wheel some, maybe yours isn't centred.
Here's some pics of the one I removed lately.

The width of the race is 10.4 mm.
Hope this helps.
