Slow You Down

Residents of a country village are attempting to find a local solution to the problem of speeding motorists by putting up warning signs in the regional dialect.

So should there be Yorskhire versions?

Current location (optional) Singapore

Re: Slow You Down

On the basis that we never do what we're told, how about the negative injunction: speed up!

Re: Slow You Down

"Think on" would do for most signs in Yorkshire.

Re: Slow You Down

I think "'Ey up!" would do for native speakers - the dick'eeads in Chelsea tractors never think signs apply to them any rooad.

Re: Slow You Down

My mother in law would say 'Gan Canny' in her native Geordieland.

Re: Slow You Down

Didn't I read where there are now road signs in Polish? That would be a bit more difficult than dialect. Cheers.

Re: Slow You Down
