In this weeks K.N.much has been written about Greenhead Upper School . In my time at KBGS KGGS at Greenhead was a very good GRAMMAR SCHOOL. Now if it does`nt change its ways the Govt. will close it.Ambitious plans have been drawn up by Education Bfd.to rebuild the school on the playing fields I first learnt to play Rugby on. This posting is for all those ex-KEIGHLIANS who live far away from their roots that nothing is forever and that change might not always be for the best!

then please explain why there is consideration to building a new school.

If the current school is haunted by gangs and drugs, how can building a new school in the same grounds improve matters ???

Couldn't get the link to work, Derek. Mind you it is the Keighley News.
It's simple really. You close the school, sack the senior staff because, after all, it must be their fault, build a super new school using PFI, give it a silly name and all will be well. Some PFI company rakes in massive rents for decades but in five years time the school is still gripped by the same problems. So then it'll probably be taken over by Netto.
