N K Howarth - Photographer

OK, I know that it's not really the main purpose of this site but Keith was an 'old boy' of KBGS.

His son also attended the school and I wonder if anyone can tell me where Keith is now?

I lost track after he sold his photography business in East Parade and could do with amking contact again.

Re: N K Howarth - Photographer

Dave, I dont know where he went, many of us will remember his photography business. He was also an accomplished singer with a fine tenor voice, and often took solo parts in local performances of oratorios in various churches (Eg Stainers Crucufixion). I think he was also in Keighley Vocal Union

Re: N K Howarth - Photographer

Keith Howarth is alive and well. He still lives in the area and his telephone number is 01535 653169.

I see him regularly at the Keighley Retired Mens Forum which meet regularly at Keighley Playhouse every Thursday Morning from October to April inclusive at 10 00 a.m in which many Old Boys of K.B.G.S. attend.

He also is involved with Keighley Playhouse Productions and also helps with the Keighley and District Talking Newspaper for the Blind.

Re: N K Howarth - Photographer

I have two watercolour paintings by N.K. Howarth, dated 1939 and wonder if this person is any relation........

Re: N K Howarth - Photographer

Pat, I phoned Keith this afternoon and read out your enquiry of him and he states that in 1939 he would have been only 13 years old and was not at all interested in art. He added that he knew of no other person with his surname, with the same initials. David

Re: N K Howarth - Photographer

I note David Manley's contribution to this particular thread and the information regarding Keith's invovement with Keighley Playhouse, where he helped with set building and design. He ceased this activity a few years ago due to failing health. Interestingly, his 'forte' was in door-hanging. Not the easiest of jobs as anyone who has tried that bit of 'DIY', will confirm.

Re: N K Howarth - Photographer

Hello,

I work at George Green (Keighley) Ltd on Parkwood Street. We have some photos which have been taken by NK Howarth. Would he still have any old photos of work we've done. I believe he photographed quite regular for our company.
Possibly called EA Coote or George Green (Foundry Eng) back then...
