Was there not a guy called David Heaton who lived not far from you and me, Geoff? 'E was a Landnah (from London) - and for a time hosted a regular hanging about scene in the garages at the top of Alan Britten's street in the 'new houses'. He had a southern accent for sure - but more Essex than 'proper' English.

I'd forgotten all about him! But as you say Alan, he may have been a southener but he was obviously from the same side of the tracks as us! Who wasn't up Calver Avenue way in those days?

I certainly remember 'Puff' Wasnt his first name Chris ?
I seem to recall he became quite ill , I think he got TB or something similar. Went away and didnt come back.
