Re: Timothy Taylor’s

'Landlord' costs rather more than their standard bitter. I was brought up 100 yds from the brewery, but havent lived in Keighley since 1971. Cant get Taylors over here (Wirral).

Re: Timothy Taylor’s

I recall maybe half a dozen years ago standing at the bar of a pub in North West London asking for a pint of bitter and being stunned when the barman told me the price. (yes, l know, it was my own fault). The chap stood next to me said, "You're not in Yorkshire now, you know." And it wasn't even 'Landlord'

Re: Timothy Taylor’s

A pint of the newest beer from Taylors which is called "Knowle Spring"
in The Boltmaker East Parade Keighley is £3.40 a pint. It's a superb drink.

Re: Timothy Taylor’s

The Knowle Spring ran across the bottom of our garden, across a couple more and into the brewery . Its believed its original source was the lake which was in Lund Park - it emerged from underneath the houses towards the bottom of Upper Chelsea St, and ran along the bottoms of 57,55,53,51,49 Malsis Rd, and into the brewery. Certainly not enough flow
to make beer, I think that came from some borehole under the brewery.

Re: Timothy Taylor’s

Just got back from The Lord Rodney where I was dining with Roy Butterfield.
He was drinking Taylor's Landlord - at £3.45 a pint.
I leave it up to Roy if he wants to publish his drinks bill.

Re: Timothy Taylor’s

I promised to give up drinking if it went up to 2/6d a pint.

The spinning pit reduced my intake.

To quote the immortal WC Fields, "Once, during prohibition, I was forced to live for days on nothing but food and water."
