COLLINGHAM Audrey May Collingham, formerly of Cark Street and Ridgeway Mount, Keighley. Died January 31 2019, at Threshfield Court Care Home, Grassington, aged 88 years. Audrey taught Art to many generations of school children, first at Keighley Boys Grammar School and, after re-organisation, at Oakbank Grammar School becoming Head of Department. Throughout her career she remained a practising artist and continued her studies of art history. She also learned several languages. Audrey was well known for her love of cats, dogs, birds and hedgehogs - many of whom formed the subjects of her paintings. She actively supported many animal rescue charities, and visitors to her home often encountered a house full of animals. In 1991, she was briefly married to a long term friend Patrick Webb of Ripon, who sadly died shortly after their wedding. She is remembered with affection by many friends including past pupils and colleagues, one of whom will assist in officiating at her funeral. This will take place on Thursday, February 28, at 1.00pm at Keighley Shared Church. This will be followed by interment at Bingley Cemetery, donations in memory of Audrey, which will be given to animal charities may be left c/o H Eaton Funeral Directors of Ilkley 01943 607360.
