A group of ex K.B.G.S.used to meet at "The Boltmakers" re -mini reunions . Apparently the best beer in Britain is called Boltmaker too.Dare I say the "best of the best"!Know where I am coming from?
I think Boltmaker is a standard strength bitter about 3.8% abv, whereas they have won this award at least twice before with 'Landlord' which is a premium bitter at 4.3% abv.
It is the former 'Best Bitter' and the name was suggested by the landlord of The Boltmakers who won £1000 after he won the competition for renaming it and has donated his prize to Manorlands.
A great beer, landlord and pub!
Years at KBGS e.g. 1958-1964 (optional) 1959 to 66

What a life
If "Boltmaker's" is the former "Best Bitter" I'm not surprised that it won.
P.S. Why have all the backslashes started appearing. I think I may have got rid of them now.
