Re: Happy Yorkshire Day

Aye Shaun, Tim Bresnen did us proud didn't he? My chest expanded a couple of inches as I watched the events unfolding at Trent Bridge yesterday and again this morning when I read of his exploits in the newspaper. Tim Bresnan celebrated Yorkshire Day in style with 90 runs and 5 wickets! "Yesterdays contribution [to the win] was apposite as it was Yorkshire Day, Bresnen extending it from its parochial patch down the M1 to Trent Bridge".

Years at KBGS e.g. 1958-1964 (optional) 1945-50

Re: Happy Yorkshire Day

I read on an unreliable website that "Yorker" originally meant deceiver, hence its cricketing use in the 19th century.
