The Mekon

I was recently discussing The Eagle with a couple of Pommie friends, the subject of Dan Dare came up along with the Mekon. Here the proverbial hit the fan, what is the correct pronunciation of Mekon? I had always pronounced it as Mee Kon, my mate claimed it was Meck On, another claimed it was Meck'n.

What is the KBGS concensus?

I'm with you John!

Re: The Mekon

When I met my wife she shared a house with, amongst others, some members of The Mekons (Punk Rock Group). They were great fans of DD, hence the name of their group, and they were always introduced to their audiences as 'The Mee Kons".

You will perish, Earthling!

Re: The Mekon

The present pronunciation is Mur-dok into which the Mekon mutated several decades ago.
