Hi
We have just returned from a six day trip to Longthorns Farm in Dorset we have to say it was a fantastic place and the owners where lovely people they made our stay fun & friendly and the site was nice and relaxed and very peaceful. I will definately be returning and would have no hesitation in recommending them.
This is a superb base to explore this gorgeous part of the world as we have found and the kids have loved it too !!!
Now i'm not sure if this site is listed here yet ? as it was recommended to us by a close friend so just in case here is their website.
Enjoy one and all

Returned from what only can be discribed as awesome bank holiday
I feel that i have to mention the wonderful Bank holiday weekend we have just spent at Longthorns farm, it is such a faboulous place so many happy campers be them camper vans , tents , or caravans we where all relaxing and enjoying the stars while sitting around the lovely fire pits & BBQ's of an evening both Sally & Mark ( the owners )took their time to walk around talking to each and everyone while enjoying the lovely evenings with us which i thought was such a lovely thing to do. During our daytimes we had some lovely walks around the nature trail that they provide and also watched the gliders peacefully soaring in the skys. Longthorns farm offer such a relaxing experience with things such as there Teepee's in the top field and there honesty shop. I cannot recommend this place enough it's so nice to find such a lovely place with such lovely owners.
If your looking for a holiday sandwhiched in with 100's of other caravaners with loads of rules then this isn't the place for you !!! however if you want a nice relaxing break with plenty of space enjoying an ideal spot to explore the lovely Dorset then this ideal it's right next to monkeyworld and close to all the best beaches & attractions
We will be back in a couple of weeks and can't wait woohooo

What a difference 12 months makes AVOID Longthorns Farm
We booked our return family holiday this year last week in July 2010 to Longthorns Farm Dorset ( next to monkey world ) as we had many previous lovely times spent with them. We arrived early Friday morning to be greeted by a less than welcoming owner Sally ( which was quite a shock ) to then be told we had to make do without our electric hookup for the first 24hrs as she had double booked us to which we didn't particularly mind as she didn't charge us for the inconvience and we where on holiday after all.
We was shown our pitch at the bottom of the first field under the tree's now while setting up we began to hear stories from other campers that they had been shouted at for laughin around there firepits during the evenings which again came as abit of a surprise. The site itself also looked rather unkept and tatty if i am honest unlike times of old mmm
On our second evening we returned from Swanage carnival at 10.45pm after the fireworks to have the gates closed behind us from a glum looking Sally, We tried not to let this deter us from our fun evening and lit a fire and began to have a drink and chat with other campers on and around the site.
Now i will add that we did get alittle loud during the course of the night but nothing verging on stupid just happy campers enjoying each others company.
However we was awoken by a furious Sally banging on our caravan door at 8.30am to which we could only offer our deepest apologies, we managed to gather ourselves and then took it upon ourselves to offer our apologies to the other campers on the site for staying up so late and being loud.
It came as a real shock to find all our fellow campers weren't bothered in the slightest infact found it quiet funny we had been shouted at like naughty school kids, well apart from one couple who was leaving that morning.
We lasted a further day as being ignored by the owner and when we was given any responce it was rude and just down right uncalled for.
We found a new site for the rest of our holiday in Dorset which was very welcoming like Longthorns used to be with nice owners and a damn sight cheaper too.
On conclusion we will never be returning to Longthorns i think they have lost all sense of the word ( happy campers ) and unless your old with no sense of humour and enjoy tons of rules and go to bed at 7.30pm i would AVOID
