Stayed here for 10 nights . This is a lovely place to stay visually with lots of trees , lovely green spaces , spacious pitches ,2 very pretty lakes with loads of bankside cover and gates at the top of the site leading onto Buxton Heath with woodland and Dartmoor ponies . The owners and staff were friendly , helpful and courteous . There is a CCCl about 200 yards from the main site with a single shower and toilet .
The fishing is not easy but there are some lovely fish in the top lake with carp, large tench, bream, roach, rudd, gudgeon and huge eels .I even had a small adder curl up on the bank near my feet !The bottom lake however looks very ill , the water is very dark with a bad smell and an oily film on the top and few signs of life .
The shower block for the main site is VERY old with only 1 shower in the mens and 1 in the ladies at 50p a go . But they were warm and lasted a long time . The toilet block was cleaned every day while we were there .
Only the lower part of the site has electric so if you want EHU phone ahead .
We were woken every weekday by the sound of heavy machinery nearby and RAF Coltishal is closeby and decided to do a few night flights during our stay . Shame really because this could be a great site .
Hevingham is close to Aylsham,Cromer,Sheringham,Wroxam(and the broads) and Norwich.
Not a bad site for 10.50/night , the surroundings and wildlife were fantastic but the dying lake and early morning noise were big minus's for us and we dont think we will return
