1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

How to be saved and KNOW it

How to Be Saved AND Know It

God is Holy (Psalm 99:5) and nothing unclean can enter Heaven (Revelation 21:27). We all sin and anything remotely good that we could do is but filthy rags to God (Isaiah 64:6). No one is worthy to enter Heaven (Romans 3:10,23).

No one was found worthy so Jesus left his perfect state in Heaven and lowered himself, being born as a human (Phillipians 2:7). Jesus lived a sinless life
(2 Corinthians 5:21) although he had the same temptations as us (Hebrews 4:15).
He laid down his life (1 John 3:16) to be the sacrifice for our sins (Romans 3:25).
Jesus is the only way to Heaven (John 14:6). Righteousness is only obtained by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22).

To believe in Jesus isn't just agreeing all of this is true (James 1:22). Even the demons believe (James 2:19).
We must be born again (John 3:3) and deny ourselves by putting Christ first in our lives (Luke 9:23).
To be saved, confess (1 John 1:9) and repent (Acts 17:30) to God. Accept Jesus as Lord of your life.

After salvation you are a changed life, a new creation! (2 Corinthians 5:17) This in part gives us assurance of our salvation when we see our lives are changed. After we are saved we will produce good deeds. True faith produces good deeds (James 2:14,17). If you see others who claim to be saved but live an ungodly life, they didn't lose their salvation as some may think, but they were never saved to begin with. You will know a true Christian by their fruit (Matthew 7:16-20).

Another way to know we are saved is by chastisement. If we fall away from God, he will bring us back, sometimes through discipline (Proverbs 3:12). God doesn't spank the Devil's children
(J. Vernon McGee). So if you find yourself in disobedience with God and receive no correction from God, then you probably aren't saved. In this way, when we are corrected by God, we can rejoice in knowing that we are truly saved and he is disciplining us because he loves us! John writes in the New Testament how to know we are saved: "We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did." 1 John 2:3-6

God is perfect and therefore cannot lie (Titus 1:2) and He keeps his promises (Hebrews 10:23).
In conclusion, always remember that verses can't help you if you don't believe them and it is by faith that you are saved, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Stay close to God: pray and read your Bible daily. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you (James 4:8).
