1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

"This Christmas Season," by David Smith (December 13,2021) (revised poem)

Steven, Valerie's brother, has sent me this Christmas poem written by his friend, David Smith, and asked me to post it here. Merry Christmas, everyone!

This Christmas Season (revised)
by David Smith December 13,2021

The Christmas Season where hearts are light
Snow on the ground with love so bright.
That light in the darkness, let it shine
The birth of a saviour is so Divine.

This world of hopelessness and state of despair
Covid and anxiety, protests everywhere.
Its in the heart. That inner peace
Christ's gift to us to bring relief

This festive season, now is the time
Christmas Celebration God's love so fine
That blessed hope and glorious appearing
The light of the world is what we are seeing

Three wise men came from far away
And followed a star for the first Christmas day
A Merry Christmas in the newness of light
The birth of a king, our hope so bright.

In this festive time of year
Think of our faith we hold so dear
Our gift of love, let worldly problems slide
This world passes away and eternity will abide
