Who do you guys think the antichrist might be? I’ve been thinking Obama, Jared Kushner, Or Macron could be...

The problem with Obama being the future Antichrist is that he does not have Roman ancestry, which disqualifies him from that infamous role. He hails from Kenya, not Europe. According to the Book of Daniel, the Antichrist will come from the people who destroyed Jerusalem and the temple--the ancient Romans. Macron is much more likely to become the Antichrist for that reason. Time will tell, of course. I don't know anything about Jared Kushner.

I'd like to know what's become of Tammy, myself. And not just her, but so many others who used to post here regularly.

hi Stephanie, there have been many leaders who are antichristlike, but whoever we think is only guessing, speculation, because the bible says that this person will not be revealed until the restrainer is removed. See in the verse that the antichrist is revealed when? in his time. God in His wisdom has planned for this information to be withheld until a specific timeframe. Rest in this, that if God believed it was good and necessary for the church to know, He wouldn't keep that from us. The fact that antichrist is revealed after the restrainer (Holy Spirit) is out of the way, after the church is with Jesus in heaven, tells me its not good for the church to focus on him. We have a role that is greater than that info. Why would I say that? Because that man will kill steal and destroy, do all he can to turn people away from Jesus. But the church, you and me and the rest of the body of Christ, we are called to give glory to God, spread the good news of forgiveness and everlasting life in Jesus to those who can still be saved, and we can encourage and comfort and build up the church as Holy Spirit uses us. God knits us together. We are nourished in Jesus, not in knowledge of antichrist. Colossians 2:10-19

You've made some good points, Regina. I stand by what I said about Obama; while he does have the antichrist spirit, sad to say, his ancestry, in particular, disqualifies him from being the future Antichrist. And while we can certainly make our guesses as to who that man will end up being, he will not be revealed until we're all in Heaven with Jesus.

today I came across a comment about Revelation 17:12

the comment is that in this verse, the ten kings do not have political authority over a region at this point in the timeline of Revelation, until they receive authority. when does this happen? when they get it at the time the beast has power.

since these 10 and the beast do not have their "kingdom", their "royal power", "authority" politically yet, the people we see in power now politically, like Macron over France or where ever, they could not be among those 10 who come into authority with the beast, before the beast gets his time of power. Rev 17:12 - they did not receive a kingdom yet. After the rapture, perhaps the whole political structure will change under the beast, maybe not presidents or rule as we know it today, or current leaders may be voted out of office and replaced with the 10 who get their kingdoms when the beast gets his.

The antichrist doesn't come out on his white horse, like a peace hero or head of a parade that people are lauding him for how wonderful he is until Jesus takes the scroll and opens the seals - Revelation 5. There are crowned (rewarded) elders already in the room with Jesus when He opens the scroll. I agree with you Kathy about the person having to have a Roman connected background somehow, because of what Daniel 9:26 says. it was the Romans who destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the sanctuary.

Since those 10 kings of Rev 17 have not received a kingdom yet, I don't think we can know their names for sure any more than we can know who the antichrist is. Thank You to God that we will not have to know him or live under his rule. In the video below, pastor Stagner says he doesn't think the antichrist knows who he is either at this point. he talks more about this bible passage in the video. its questions and answers.
