1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

"Fair Use for Information & Discussion Purposes"

Praise ye the LORD. Blessed [is] the man [that] feareth the LORD, [that] delighteth greatly in his commandments. (Psalm 112:1)

Reflection
Blessed is the man who repents and believes! God shall give Him that rest promised from the beginning. Yes, the believer shall receive blessing upon blessing in the very gospel promise of Christ Himself. By His obedience unto righteousness, even we to be made righteous. By His death unto the cross, even we are made just. By His resurrection unto life, even we are made unto new life. And by His ascension to His heavenly throne, even we are exalted to His right hand. His eternal Sabbath rest is the Sabbath rest of we, His people. Indeed, we are blessed! Beyond imagining are we blessed!

"Fair Use for Information & Discussion Purposes"

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:38-39)

Reflection
Peter talks about the gift of the Holy Spirit which is received after repentance. He then declares this gift to be a promise and that it will remain for all generations. The gift of the Holy Spirit was given to the church on the day of Pentecost and it is still being given to Christians of today's generation. God will not revoke this promise nor refrain from giving it to those that He calls His own.

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. (Psalm 22:26)

Reflection
Though you may suffer affliction, never forget the grace of the Lord in your life. The world's afflictions are but for a moment and are continually working for the good of we who believe. But take further heart, O seed of Abraham and child of God! The Lord will surely comfort you in your troubles! And still, such a wondrous hope stands before you-pleasure and joy-that is eternal! There shall be no more pain and no more sorrow. We shall rest in true peace forever.

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. (1 John 2:28)

Reflection
How sweet and refreshing is the promise of eternal life! It is the beautiful promise of worshipping our Creator and simply being with our Saviour for all eternity. Abiding closely with Him in this life allows us to have full confidence in our salvation when God calls His children home. May our faith in Christ be steadfast and strong that we may know Him well on the day of His return!

Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:10)

Reflection
May all believers take great heart in this amazing promise of joy and glory! Just as our Lord was persecuted, so we will be persecuted. It is a guarantee! However, we suffer with the knowledge of the beautiful hope of inheriting the kingdom of heaven and residing with our heavenly Father in all His glory. To consider His greatness only causes us to sing of His righteousness!

He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. (1 Samuel 2:9)

Reflection
The Lord promises to protect us and keep us according to His will. The all-powerful God is our defense, provider and refuge in this life. Indeed, in our own strength we can do nothing, but through His strength we can do all things (Philippians 4:13)!

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. (James 5:15)

Reflection
The healer of hearts and forgiver of sins, our Lord is always merciful to he who seeks Him in faith. The Lord delights to do good! Let us therefore delight also in mercy and all manner of kindness.

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. (Romans 8:30)

Reflection
The Lord will glorify those whom He has already justified. The use of "glorified" here (in Greek, the proleptic aorist, edoxasen) presents the act of our glorification as being something complete and finished. Even though we cannot view it as a completed action from our human vantage point, God views it as already complete.

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. (Hebrews 3:6)

Reflection
Through the incredible faithfulness of Christ, we have admission into the glorious kingdom of God! It is by the beautiful sacrifice of Christ that we are made blameless in the sight of the Father. This unbelievable promise causes us to take heart as we hold fast to this great hope until the last day

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)

Reflection
Safety. Refuge. Protection. The Lord God Almighty is an impregnable fortress for those who place their trust in Him. He is a strong shelter to those who depend on His name. Never shall He fail. Never shall He weaken. Never shall those who trust in Him be dismayed! Trust in Him and take courage in His majesty!

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: (2 Corinthians 1:9)

Reflection
Overpowering the strength of the law that had condemned us to death, God, in power infinite, raised us from our bodies moribund to new life! Eternal and holy are our new lives in Him. Rejoice in this outpoured show of God's great love for us! We are His people and He is our God Forever.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. (Philippians 4:9)

Reflection
The believer is most satisfied when he is most glorifying God with his life. Through his faith, God's grace works in his life to do good. Daily he is being conformed to the image and quality of the God he serves. Recognize, O Christian, whom God has made you and do well according this truth. And peace will be yours! So says the Word of the Lord!

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)

Reflection
My Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise Your great name in all of its fullness and grandeur! Thank You for cleansing me of my iniquities and bringing me to Your side. Guide and direct my paths in Your righteousness and cause me to desire Your ways. Continue to fashion me into Your holy image. For You alone are worthy to be praised in all Your goodness and mercy.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Reflection
Our salvation is of the simplest conception. God, before the foundations of the very world He created, decided that He would give a sufficient measure of grace unto all His children—a measure sufficient for faith. And so, He saves those who exercise that gift of faith. When we confess and believe in the gospel of the risen Christ, we offer evidence that indeed, we are the chosen sons of Abraham—we are the very children of the Lord Most High!

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. (Hebrews 10:36)

Reflection
We have need of endurance to be sure, but that very need is fulfilled by virtue of the promise itself. We await that long-promised eternal and heavenly rest of Christ, and yet, as all the redeemed are already secured in the heavenly promise, so their perseverance is guaranteed. Even unto the end of the age!

For as the heaven is high above the earth, [so] great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth [his] children, [so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him. (Psalm 103:11-13)

Reflection
Believer rejoice! Though of your sin-stained self you could nowise enter the presence of the Lord Almighty, yet God loves to such a degree and extent that He sent His only Son to pay for your corrupted life. His promise-not only to forgive their sins but also forget them, if His people will but ask-stands an incredible offer of mercy and grace, and is of such magnitude that the only response His child can possibly muster is one of unbounded joy. For when you were forgiven, you became the very child of God, allowed entrance into His own throne room. Again, rejoice!

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth [him with] his hand. (Psalm 37:24)

Reflection
From His undying love and grace, God sustains us in all things as we continue to trust in Him. We were firmly established in His love when He removed us from our iniquity and securely planted our feet on the Rock. Even as we stumble in this life, the Creator of the universe is there to grab hold and bring us to His side. May we commit our way to Him and see His unfailing greatness and mercy each day.

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:14)

Reflection
Take heart in the evident promise of your salvation: that always and forever shall your soul be filled to overflowing with abundant and eternal life! Never shall you thirst. Never shall you dry up. Never shall your soul be parched. Rather take joy in this: unto everlasting shall your heart's thirst be quenched as rivers of God's living water pour down from heaven as you bask in the glory of God's own Son: Christ Jesus.

After the Lord has finally swallowed up the power of death, we, His people, shall rejoice with Him evermore! Be glad in your salvation, O people of God, for as the Lord will cast off death forever, so shall He also grant life to His servants!

The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth [him with] his hand. I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. [He is] ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed [is] blessed. (Psalm 37:23-26)

Reflection
Never shall the Lord forsake the righteous. Never shall the bride of Christ want for any good thing. The Lord is kind and merciful and will always see fit to bless His people whom He loves so dearly. Rejoice in and give thanks for the Lord's constancy! He shall never fail and we shall never be ashamed.

My prayer: Father, I stand in complete amazement of Your unrelenting love for Your children. Thank You for the blood of Your Son and the eternal grace that You pour out upon us. It seems so unbelievable that You choose to remove and forget our many transgressions against you. Yet You do just that! Make us worthy of Your remarkable mercy and grace.
