1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Pastor's Perspective: differences between Christianity and Islam; Not Common Faiths

Re: Pastor's Perspective: differences between Christianity and Islam; Not Common Faiths

Regina, I didn't have a chance to watch the video, however, here are some of my thoughts below, on the subject.

Christianity & Islam are not the same, very different.

Christianity, is based on Jesus' teaching, in biblical scriptures. To love one another, forgive those who
have trespassed against us, and to do good unto others. Jesus teaches us to love our enemies to do good unto those who persecute us, etc.

Jesus is front and center of the Christian religion. Son of the living God, of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.
Jesus is the second person of the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, ONE GOD
in THREE PERSONS.

Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world, and only through the willing acceptance of Lord's Christ Jesus sacrifice, we are assured our Salvation and a place in God's Heavenly Kingdom.

Jesus rose from the dead, bodily, and ascended into Heaven, and is coming again at the Rapture, and then at the battle of Armageddon, then to set up His kingdom on Earth.

Islam basis it's religion on Allah,Mohamed, kill the infidel (which is everyone who doesn't follow their religion). Allah their god calls to kill, and destroy, to seize by force. No forgiveness, no love, just empty promises of virgins in their heaven, which doesn't exist.

Mohammad's body still lays in it's grave, while Jesus' body has been raised and is in heaven.
They believe that Jesus was a prophet, and that their Mahdi will return to be the leader of the world and everyone will accept Islam and it's ways.

These are but a few differences which I'm sure the video, gives many more on this subject.

The differences are huge...and therefore, there is not "One Message" for both religions.

The comparisons are great, and so is the God of Israel!

Shahram Hadian at SugarLand Bible Church
Shahram was a Muslim, raised in a Muslim family from Iran who became a Christian. He talks about differences, but also, how dangerously erroneous doctrine about Christianity is creeping into some churches and some missions that are meant to teach the truth about Jesus---only they are not.
