1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT HANUKKAH. - email from Michelle

Dear Valerie,

How are you doing? I've been thinking about you a lot and wanted to write and check in to see how you are. I'm still sending up prayers for you and your coming surgery - though I'm also still hoping for a 2017 Rapture with you and the others watching on RFTH.

Valerie, I want to thank you for your work in keeping RFTH going through 'thick and thin'and for your words of encouragement to me privately. I wish you and your family much love and blessings as we approach the end of this most amazing year 2017. May the Lord Bless you more and more.

-The following study on Hanukkah might be of interest to some readers if you feel to post it., but it's ok if you don't think it would be beneficial.

SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT HANUKKAH.

As some have noted, a Hanukkah Rapture is still a possibility whilst keeping the 2017 - Yom Kippur 2024 timeline for the Tribulation. We just have to keep watching!!.

Hanukkah is interesting to me, because the date of Kislev 24 is mentioned 3 times in the book of Haggai. The subject is the Temple. In my studies, I came to realize that Haggai means "My Feast". Now that gave me reason to look a bit further.
If Jesus was born on the first day of Tabernacles and circumcised on the 8th day, as many believe, then His conception would have been at Hanukkah. (My Feast??)

In God's mind, life begins at conception, and the Hebrew belief is in agreement as seen in Psalms. So the idea of "birthday" is not as relevant as the "day of conception" - which is why I wonder if Hanukkah or Feast of Dedication is highlighted as it is in the book of the prophet HAGGAI whose name means"MY FEAST" as a clue.

In the New Testament we see Jesus attending the Feast of Dedication (John 10:22 ff) just 4 months before His Crucifixion.
The context of this is immediately after Jesus gave the teaching about Himself as the Good Shepherd and contrasted himself with the false shepherd - the thief- who does not care for the sheep but seeks to steal, kill and destroy..Jesus is here describing the Antichrist.that will come in his place.

It is also interesting to me that the word Harpazo pluck (G726) is used twice by Jesus at the Feast of Dedication, in speaking about his sheep (followers) where he states:

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
"
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." (John 10:28,29)

The Church, is God's gift to Jesus - "all those the Father has given him" that Jesus mentions in His High Priestly Prayer in John !7.

JOHN 17:24
"Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovest me before the foundation of the world.

It could be that the gift of the Church is presented to Jesus as the Father's gift to Him on the Feast of Dedication.

The Feast of Dedication has also been tied to the 1335th day, the blessed day, mentioned in Daniel 12:12 at the beginning of the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ.(Blessed day because 'blessed' are those who wait for and come to this day after the tribulation)

It is also interesting that the word that Hanukkah (Chanukkah) comes from is related to the name Enoch meaning "dedicated" the Hebrew word for Enoch, the raptured Gentile man, is H2585: Chanowk = "dedicated". It has a Hebrew word value of 84.The 24th Kislev, which is the evening that Hannukkah begins, is the 84th day of the Hebrew year beginning at Rosh Hashana..

It is my belief that Hanukkah is not just to do with the Maccabean revolt at the time of Antiochus Ephiphanes, and the rededication of the Temple at that time, but that it is intimately related to Jesus Christ's life and reign and by extension, to the Church in some way. It also seems to be pictured in Enoch, who in turn is a type or picture of the raptured Church.

I just wanted to share these observations regarding Hanukkah, while we keep watching for the Lord to come. We are watching for Him though, not a date. He is coming for his Church, we know it is close and our hearts long to see Him. Come Lord Jesus!

Love and prayers in Jesus' Name to you, dear sister, and all your dear ones at this Holy time for Grace, Peace and Joy.

And I pray these same things for the fellowship of believers at RFTH too.

In Jesus' Love,
Michelle.

Re: SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT HANUKKAH. - email from Michelle

Michelle, Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Hanukkah...interesting.

Thank you for your concern and kind words. I'm hanging in there, taking it a day at a time, and trying not to dwell on my situation by keeping myself busy. After all, there's nothing more I can do about it, except keep praying and trusting God, to see me through it all.

Here are some thoughts that came to my mind about Hanukkah. It is a Festival of Lights

Since it is a festival of lights, it brings to mind, that Jesus is "The Light of the World" and His bride is a "festival of lights"; shining brightly in this dark world.

Hanukkah remembers the rededication of the second Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.

During Christmas, we rededicate in remembrance the birth of Jesus by celebrating; the second person of the Holy Trinity. Jesus is the Temple, whom dwells in believers, through God's Holy Spirit, for God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One and is remembered not only in Jerusalem, but all over the world and in Heaven.

There will be no need for a temple in heaven or New Jerusalem, nor for the sun or moon to shine; see the scripture below:

Revelation 21:23
The New Jerusalem
…22 But I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 And the city has no need for sun or moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 By its light the nations will walk, and into it the kings of the earth will bring their glory.…

Hanukkah begins on Tuesday December 12th in 2017 and ends on Wednesday December 20th.
A period of waiting and preparation before Christmas is called the "Advent Season". In most churches it starts on the fourth Sunday before Christmas. Christmas eve is on December 24th, and on December 25th is Christmas Day,
the same dates every year. Let's remember we celebrate Jesus, not pagan gods; Christmas was to detour people in ancient days from celebrating their pagan gods. instead, it celebrated, the only One true God; therefore, the birth of Jesus the Son of God is what true Christians celebrate to this very day, without having to apologize to anyone. It's not what day you celebrate Christmas, it's Whom are you celebrating, in this case the Son of God Jesus Himself.

Now the 21 Trillion dollar Question, "Will the Rapture happen this year 2017, before, during or by years' end?"

My answer, since the Pre Trib Rapture is imminent, I'm Hopeful!!!

In Jesus' Love,

Maranatha,

Valerie

Hanukkah is the Jewish Festival of Lights and it remembers the rededication of the second Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. This happened in the 160s BCE/BC (before Jesus was born). (Hanukkah is the Hebrew and Aramaic word for 'dedication'.) Hanukkah last for eight days and starts on the 25th of Kislev, the month in the Jewish calendar that occurs at about the same time as December. Because the Jewish calendar is lunar (it uses the moon for its dates), Kislev can happen from late November to late December.

In 2017, Hanukkah is from in the evening of Tuesday, 12th December until the evening of Wednesday, 20th December.

Re: SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT HANUKKAH. - email from Michelle

since Hanukkah begins in a few days, it would be wonderful... yet now I'm believing that any day, even today the Lord could call for the church-1Thes 4:13-18. We will only know in hindsight the day He calls us to meet Him. That will happen so fast when He calls us, we won't have time to consider significance of the day, we will be so glad and so freed in new bodies, in the twinkling of an eye. Valerie & Kathy & Tammy & all, in the past, I used to think the timing of the rapture was tied to Jewish festival days. I don't think that any more. The bible gives very specific information regarding what the Jewish people and the city of Jerusalem can expect to occur-Daniel 9:24 (and in Daniel about the 70 weeks through Dan 12, and Jesus talking about the tribulation days before He returns to rule in Matt 24 and in other prophecies). However, the church was a mystery revealed after the resurrection, empowered at Pentecost by the Holy Spirit in a way that even the disciples did not understand when Jesus was walking among them before the cross. Paul reveals the mystery of the rapture, years after Pentecost- about AD 52-54 1Thess was written, and about AD 54-55 1Cor was written. The Lord may call us on a day like Michelle is saying, certainly the day Jesus was conceived was a very special day for God and for Jesus also, but if we are not called to heaven then, it does not mean that our wait or hope is delayed another year or years. Since the coming of the church was a mystery in the days Jesus was teaching the disciples in person, we don't read in the gospel accounts Jesus saying that when the church is empowered by the Holy Spirit for the church to expect certain things to happen and then a rapture will occur. I am not very skilled at concise writing, but all that to say keep hope every day, because the timing of the church meeting Jesus when He calls us to Himself is a mystery...
we are a "new man" in Christ, not under the law, not tied to the law but under our saviour and head, Jesus Eph 2:14-16
something Michelle said brought to mind the garden of Eden, Genesis 2 and 3

In the New Testament we see Jesus attending the Feast of Dedication (John 10:22 ff) just 4 months before His Crucifixion.
The context of this is immediately after Jesus gave the teaching about Himself as the Good Shepherd and contrasted himself with the false shepherd - the thief- who does not care for the sheep but seeks to steal, kill and destroy..Jesus is here describing the Antichrist.that will come in his place.

When satan came as a serpent to tempt Eve to disobey and eat from the tree that God warned Adam not to eat from, satan was being a false shepherd. He was leading Eve and Adam to disobey, thus stealing from them administrative right over God's creation, bringing death and destruction upon humanity ever since.
When Jesus came, conceived in Mary, God sent a good shepherd to mankind to restore life, restore righteousness to us through faith in Jesus and instead of perpetual destructions, to provide all who believe in Jesus an inheritance that is incorruptible
