1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

'Dark day': PM 'saddened and angered' after deadly attacks

As Prime Minister Stephen Harper condemned a wave of deadly attacks on three different continents Friday, Canadian officials said they were trying to determine whether any Canadians are among those killed in a Tunisian resort town.
Early-morning and midday attacks Friday in France, Tunisia, Kuwait and Somalia have left dozens dead. At least 37 people were killed after a gunman opened fire on tourists on the beach in Sousse, a coastal resort town.

Foreign Affairs says more than 800 Canadians were known to be in Tunisia, however the number is only an estimate, since overseas travel registration is voluntary.

Also on Friday, French authorities say one man was decapitated and others injured after an attack on a gas factory in southeast France. And on the same day, an Islamic State group claimed responsibility after a blast at a mosque in Kuwait’s capital killed at least 16.

Deadly incidents have also rocked parts of Somalia in recent days, as extremist group Al-Shabab vowed to step up attacks during Ramadan.
The PMO said Harper had been briefed by his national security adviser on Friday’s attacks.

In a statement, the prime minister said he was both “saddened and angered” to learn of the “heinous terrorist attacks” in France, Kuwait and Tunisia.
He expressed his condolences to the family and friends of those lost on Friday, and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
Harper added that Canada “mourns with France” and stands behind its ally on a “dark” day.

“Canadian agencies have reached out and offered French authorities our full support as they bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice,” Harper said.

Harper also said that Canada will fight the “international jihadist movement,” which has “declared war” on freedom, democracy and human dignity.
“Canada will not sit on the sidelines as this global terrorist group unleashes senseless violence on innocent civilians from Europe to the Middle East.”

Terrorist attacks in 3 countries after ISIS issues call to violence

SOUSSE, Tunisia -- A young man pulled a Kalashnikov from a beach umbrella and sprayed gunfire at European sunbathers at a Tunisian resort, killing at least 39 people -- one of three deadly attacks Friday from Europe to North Africa to the Middle East that followed a call to violence by Islamic State extremists.

The shootings in the Tunisian resort of Sousse happened at about the same time as a bombing at a Shiite mosque in Kuwait and an attack on a U.S.-owned factory in France that included a beheading. It was unclear if the violence was linked but it came days after the IS militants urged their followers "to make Ramadan a month of calamities for the nonbelievers." In all, the assailants killed at least 65 people.

Man decapitated at gas factory in France; suspect in custody

SAINT-QUENTIN-FALLAVIER , France -- A truck driver once under surveillance for radical Islamic ties crashed into an American-owned chemical warehouse in southeastern France on Friday and hung his employer's severed head on a factory gate, along with banners with Arabic inscriptions.

The attack, which triggered an explosion that wounded two people, came on a day of violence that spanned three continents.

The suspect, who was apprehended soon after setting off the blast, is the latest French citizen implicated in extremist bloodshed in recent years after being flagged to authorities, then falling off the radar. Police were put on higher alert in the Lyon area after the assault, which revived fearful memories of attacks in January on a kosher market and satirical newspaper that left 20 dead.

"Islamist terrorism has again struck France," Prime Minister Manuel Valls said.
The attack in France came on the same day that a gunman mowed down scores of European tourists on a beach in Tunisia and a suicide bomber killed more than two dozen worshippers at a Shiite mosque in Kuwait -- violence that followed a call by Islamic State extremists to target "nonbelievers."

Islamic State affiliate strikes Shiite mosque in Kuwait, killing 27

KUWAIT CITY -- A suicide bomber purportedly from an Islamic State affiliate unleashed the first terrorist attack in Kuwait in more than two decades on Friday, killing at least 27 people and wounding scores more in a bombing that targeted Shiite worshippers after midday prayers.

The attack, which hit the capital of Kuwait City, was one of three deadly attacks from Europe to the Middle East on Friday that followed the Islamic State group's call for violence during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

It also underscored the Islamic State group's reach and its ability to carry out large-scale attacks -- even in this mostly quiet and relatively secure Gulf Arab nation, with its wealthy capital that is home to glistening shopping malls, five-star hotels and Western retail chains.
