1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing .
This morning of 05.17.2015, on TBN, I heard Jentezen Franklin preach a sermon that's titled--"Palms & Willows."
Why I especially paid attention to his sermon, it's b/c he supplied the meaning behind "our" name. He said that the Palm Tree meant--"VICTORY!!!" The "Willows" of his sermon, actually are those Weeping Willow trees; b/c it looks like they're bent over weeping tears.
You see--our common name of Tamar/or Tamara means "Palm Tree." Every time I saw that that meaning didn't mean anything to me, until I listened to Jentezen's sermon.
Jentezen reminded us of those palm branches that the people of Jerusalem waved and laid on the ground for Jesus, who was mounted on that lowly donkey, to step on has they rode over them.
It also occurred to me as I logged-on to RFTH, why when our hands are raised up w/palms facing forward and we give that "V" for victory sign. It all makes perfect sense to me now. We also have "VICTORY!" in Jesus, too.
Doesn't it do same to y'all too!?

As I was listening to this song, it occurred to me that there's a Tamar in Jesus' lineage. Her name can be found in:
Matthew 1:1-3 NKJV
1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham;
2 Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers.
3 Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.
Perhaps some where along the line, the name of Tamar was changed Tamara, do you suppose??? Talk about the top of the line--namewise, when it comes to Jesus!!!
Beginning today, I promise that I'll no longer be ashamed of my "real" given-name, which is--Tamara. I still, however, want to continue (especially since Jesus has no problem with it...) be called--Tammy, though. OK!?
