1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

You Are My Hiding Place

I attended a Memorial service today for a dear friend who graduated to glory last week. I know many are having very difficult battles right now and losses that are hard to handle. Rest in the Lord and in His deep love. Take a moment and listen to this song by Selah. Then go to Tom's thread - "PSALM 91" and continue to bask in the deep peace and hiding place we have under God's wings.

"O THE DEEP, DEEP LOVE OF JESUS" by Selah

Re: You Are My Hiding Place

I'm sorry to hear of your dear friend's passing, but be comforted in knowing that she is in a better place now and that it won't be long until we all are going to be home soon ourselves the way things are going.

Thanks for posting this song. This has been one of my favorites.

Re: You Are My Hiding Place

Lisaleenie, thanks so much for your sweet words. It was a guy and he and his wife were in the same church home prayer group with me for many years. He was very down to earth and funny, always made us laugh. His service was a celebration of his life and joy-filled even though we are going to miss him very much. Isn't it awesome that for us the end of our lives here is just a transition to the life eternal that Jesus gave us with His death, burial and resurrection. We can be thankful for time together here and look forward to being together forever soon.

Here is another favorite and one I want played at my service if I go before the rapture (holding out great hope for rapture though!)

Re: You Are My Hiding Place

Texas Sue, I'm sorry to hear of your friend passing on. For them it is better to be with the Lord. For you and others who loved and befriended him, it is a loss and grief. Thank you so much for posting the beautiful songs.
The Lord Jesus truly is our hiding place, our living Refuge.
Sue, your post is a great comfort to me today. I pray the Lord Jesus comfort your heart, the Holy Spirit come upon you and comfort your heart today and future days, until Jesus returns,

Re: You Are My Hiding Place

Texas Sue,

Sorry to hear of the death of your friend. "Absent from the body, Present with the Lord". He's in a better place now, with the Lord, God Almighty.

Thank you for the beautiful videos you posted as well.

Soon we'll all meet up with our loved ones, friends, who are in Christ Jesus, and have passed on, and what a celebration that will be, when we are reunited in Heaven.

May your dear friend rest in the arms of Jesus. May his dear wife, family & friends, be comforted by God's Holy Spirit, knowing, that Jesus has won victory over death and the grave. For the corruptible body will put on a incorruptible body liken unto the Lord's own body. We will be changed in a twinkle of and eye. The dead in Jesus will be caught up in the air first, and then we who are alive, will be caught up together with the dead, to meet the Lord, in the air;

and be with the Lord forevermore.

Maranatha!

Re: You Are My Hiding Place

T/Sue,

I'm very sorry to learn that your friend passed. I do, however, agree totally with Valerie's above sentiments.

Valerie, I love that Jesus hugging photo. For I've actually felt Him reaching down out of heaven hugging me twice...as well as stroking my head encouragingly too.

I hope you both enjoy this Gaither hymn--"Rock Of Ages" featuring Vestal Goodman, who has herself, gone home to be with the Lord!?

and here's (hopefully) another version of this beautiful hymn, sung in the Graham Family Chapel. Recognize Billy's late wife, Ruth, who too, has gone home to be with the Lord as well?

Re: You Are My Hiding Place

Regina, Valerie, and Tammy, thank you for your kind words. The separation of good friends and beloved family members passing from our reach is so surreal. They are there and then they are not. Knowing that they are with the Lord and we will be joined again at some future time is like an anchor that keeps us on course, sane and secure. What do people do who don't know Jesus? It is unfathomable to me.

Tammy those songs are wonderful. Thanks for your thoughtfulness and for choosing such a great classic hymn to share with us all.
