1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Always

Sometimes a song that is dubbed "secular" can sound like a hymn of praise or love. I think of this song by Irving Berlin as one of those. In the book of Zephaniah it says that God sings over us. This could be one of the songs He sings over me, perhaps over you too!

"ALWAYS" by Patsy Cline

One day this song, "If Ever I Would Leave You", was playing on the radio and Jesus broke into my thoughts as I was listening to tell me "this is for you from me". That meant so much to me because I had battled with abandonment issues and the insecurity it fosters since early childhood. Jesus knew that and wanted me to know that I could count on Him to NEVER leave me.

He is singing over you right now so listen closely.

Re: Always

Beautiful songs! I've always loved Patsy Cline's voice and also Robert Goulets. I think of Jesus too when I hear a beautiful secular song that sounds more like praise and worship or a message to my heart than it being just a secular song.

Re: Always

Beautiful Texas Sue, both songs are beautiful even though they are secular. Thank you.

I'd like to add this one.

Listen to the beautiful words, so comforting.

Our Lord speaking the words to His Bride. Maranatha!
