1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

May's Miracle

Tom's post about the blind, autistic boy singing reminded me of the story of Leslie Lemke and I found it on youtube to share here with you. You may already have seen this, but if you haven't it is one you don't want to miss.

Re: May's Miracle

I looked up what happened with him and found this:

Both Joe and May passed away and Leslie is still alive and living with May's oldest daughter, Mary.

Re: May\'s Miracle

Leslie has cerebral palsy, and he is blind and severely retarded. But he has a musical genius. I have a copy of a biography about May Lemke and Leslie; it came out back in 1981. It's titled May's Boy: An Incredible Story of Love. His story also aired as an "ABC Afterschool Special" back in the early '80s.

Re: Mays Miracle

Texas Sue I really enjoyed this. It was very refreshing. I have a special place in my heart for people like this.

Re: Mays Miracle

Texas Sue,

Thanks for posting this video; what a wonderful story about him.
It shows how precious life is, no matter what the circumstances may be.
We are all special to God, and some like Leslie, are a little extra special in God's heart. Thanks for sharing. God Bless! Valerie

Re: Mays Miracle

Kathy, Tom and Valerie, I remember seeing the TV movie with Cloris Leachman playing May's part and then I read the book. This is such a miracle of God and both May and her husband Joe give God all the credit. The love, tenderness and infinite patience of May and Joe are so exceptional. They never gave up and gave so unselfishly to the life of this little abandoned child. I know they will have crowns in heaven for what they have done. Goes to show that no life given by God is a throw away. Each person has infinite value to God, the Great Creator.
