1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing .

Mark Murchison: "What A Friend We Have In Jesus"

This song always comforts and lifts me out of the morass of this world. Hope it does the same for you, especially sung by the beautiful, melodic voice of Mark Murchison.

I just saw a connection for the first time with this song and some of my Bible heroes. It was said of Moses and Abraham that they were FRIENDS of God. What an awesome thing for God to call them His friends. In the New Testament, Jesus calls all who give their lives to Him, HIS FRIENDS. Again, what an awesome thought and wonderful status to be called a FRIEND of God and Jesus, Son of God, truly God and truly man calls us FRIEND! That thought which only dawned on me as I was making this post gives even more value to this lovely old hymn.

I love that beautiful hymn, T/Sue!!!

Mark sings it sooo beautifully, doesn't he!?

That song IS sooo true, for it also makes me think about what a wonderful friend even we have in Jesus too, even today. For He loves us all very much with His wonderful unending love.
