Syrian Gov Gas Attack Against Their Own People

Men, women and children die from suffocation after being gassed by Bashir Assad. Does the term "monster" fit here? This report from Debka File:

Reported Syrian gas attack killing hundreds after first US-trained rebel incursion from Jordan

Syrian opposition activists report between 200 and 650 dead and hundreds more wounded in a poison gas strike by Bashar Assad’s forces on rebel-held areas of eastern Damascus. They claim nerve gas canisters were dropped by Syrian Air Force fighter planes which were seen flying over the area after the attack, the most extensive reported till now. Their claim has not been verified. The regime denied the accusation, saying there was “no truth whatsoever” in reports that chemical gas was used near Damascus, and maintaining over state television that the Syrian army was conducting a conventional attack on rebel positions south and east of Damascus.

debkafile reports exclusively that Assad is acting to counter the first organized incursion of US-trained Syrian rebels from Jordan into southern Syria. The first group of 250 rebels, trained in special operations tactics by US and Jordanian instructors, entered Syria Saturday, Aug. 17, armed with weapons of Russian provenance supplied by the US and Saudi Arabia.

They are fighting under US and Jordanian commanders based in the Hashemite Kingdom.

This is happening and no one is speaking out about it or displaying any outrage over this horrible event. The UN Security Council is not even meeting to discuss this blatant move by Assad. Unbelievable, reminds me of Saddam Hussein gassing all those poor Kurds in Iraq.

You are so right, Texas Sue! This monstrous slaughter of the Syrian people has dragged on for well over 2 years now, & over 100,00 have been killed, with no sign of stopping. As you say, 'where's the outrage?' The 'powers that be' only talk & 'strongly condemn.' Talk is cheap...

After months of negotiating with Assad's government to let inspectors into Syria, a U.N. team arrived in Damascus four days ago. Their task is to check on the presence, but not the sources, of chemical weapons that are alleged to have been released in three specific, small incidents several months ago.

'WE'RE BEING EXTERMINATED'

Many rebels and activists in the opposition area say they have lost interest in promises of U.N. investigations or in help from abroad: "We are 7 km away, just a 5-minute car ride from where they are staying," said activist Bara Abdelrahman.

We're being exterminated with poison gas while they drink their coffee and sit inside their hotels."

Qassem Saadeddine, a commander and spokesman for the rebels' Supreme Military Council, said the group was still deliberating on how or if it should respond: "People are growing desperate as they watch another round of political statements and U.N. meetings without any hope of action," he told Reuters...

Texas Sue & Dale, I totally agree with the both of you.

A lot of under their breath mumbling about it, like you said Dale,
talk is cheap; however, no concrete action has been taken to date over
this horrific situation allowed by the monster himself.

Agreed! Fortunately, Israel's eyes are wide open:
