1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Storm Isaac heads for U.S. Gulf Coast, hurricane warning issued*

"Fair Use for Information & Discussion Purposes"

By Kevin Gray | Reuters

MIAMI (Reuters) - Tropical Storm Isaac swirled into the Gulf of Mexico
on Monday, threatening to disrupt U.S. offshore oil and gas supplies and
strengthen into a powerful hurricane that could make landfall near
Louisiana almost seven years to the day after Katrina struck.

The storm swiped south Florida on Sunday before moving into the warm
Gulf waters, where it is expected to strengthen to a Category 2
hurricane and hit the Gulf Coast somewhere between Florida and Louisiana
by midweek, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

The governors of Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi declared states of
emergency as a hurricane warning went into effect for the northern Gulf
Coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle.

It included New Orleans, devastated when Hurricane Katrina swept over
the city on August 29, 2005, killing more than 1,800 people and causing
billions of dollars of damage along the coast.

"It is difficult to realize that to the day - seven years after Katrina
- another hurricane is headed our way," Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant
said.

"It is important for Mississippians to take this storm seriously and
prepare for potential impact."

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley ordered mandatory evacuations beginning
on Monday for residents in low-lying areas along the coast.

Energy producers in the Gulf worked to shut down some of their
operations ahead of in what could be the biggest test for U.S. energy
installations since 2008, when Hurricanes Gustav and Ike disrupted
offshore oil output for months and damaged onshore natural gas
processing plants, pipelines and some refineries.

Some Gulf residents started stocking up on supplies and securing their
homes. In New Orleans, long lines formed at some gas stations and in
Gulfport, Mississippi, people crowded supermarkets to buy bottled water
and canned food.

"I sense a high level of anxiety," said New Orleans Mayor Mitch
Landrieu. "The timing, as fate would have it, on the anniversary of
Katrina has everybody in a state of alertness, but that is a good thing."

Isaac is forecast to become a hurricane either Monday or Tuesday. The
National Hurricane Center said the storm was expected to eventually
intensify to a Category 2 hurricane with extremely dangerous sustained
winds of 105 miles per hour (169 kph) as it swept across the Gulf of Mexico.

Forecasters are predicting a more westward track that could bring Isaac
over the heart of the U.S. offshore oil patch, which produces about 23
percent of U.S. oil output and 7 percent of its natural gas.

With the threat to offshore oil infrastructure and Louisiana refineries,
U.S. crude oil prices traded up 75 cents to $96.90 a barrel in Asia
early Monday.

SHUTTING OIL PRODUCTION

Meteorologists at Weather Insight, an arm of Thomson Reuters, predict
the storm will spur short-term shutdowns of 85 percent of the U.S.
offshore oil production capacity and 68 percent of the natural gas output.

Once ashore, the storm could wreak havoc on low-lying fuel refineries
along the Gulf Coast that account for about 40 percent of U.S. refining
capacity.

That could send gasoline prices spiking just ahead of the U.S. Labor Day
holiday, analysts said. "It's going right in the heart of refinery row,"
Phil Flynn, an analyst with Price Futures Group in Chicago, said on Sunday.

London-based BP Plc , the biggest U.S. Gulf producer, said it was
shutting production at all of its Gulf of Mexico oil and gas platforms
and evacuating all workers on Sunday.

Late Sunday night, Isaac was about 75 miles (120 km) west-southwest of
Key West at the southernmost tip of the U.S. mainland, packing top
sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph) and moving west-northwest at 14 mph
(24 kph).

It was expected to approach the Gulf Coast on Tuesday.

Issac's westward track meant the worst of its weather would miss Tampa,
where the Republican National Convention was expected to open its
four-day meeting on Monday but official events were delayed until
Tuesday because of the storm.

Tampa, located on Florida's west coast, still faces the threat of winds,
heavy rains and storm surge, forecasters said.

Isaac faced favorable conditions to strengthen over the warm waters of
the Gulf, increasing the possibility it could intensify beyond a
Category 2 hurricane, said NHC meteorologist David Zelinsky.

Tropical-force winds from the massive storm stretched across 400 miles
(644 km), with rain bands extending even further, he added.

In south Florida, winds from Isaac forced cancellations of hundreds of
flights in and out of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and other south Florida
airports on Sunday. Miami Mayor Carlos Gimenez reported more than 500
cancellations affecting Miami International Airport alone.

More than half of the restaurants and other businesses were shuttered in
the tourist haven of Key West after many visitors heeded official
warnings to head home early.

GULF COAST RESIDENTS URGED TO GET PREPARED

Isaac moved into the Gulf of Mexico after spending several days sweeping
across the Caribbean.

In Haiti, Isaac added to the misery of more than 350,000 survivors of
the 2010 earthquake still living in flimsy resettlement camps as water
gushed into tents and corrugated plastic shacks were ripped apart by the
wind.

Authorities in the impoverished nation said the storm had killed eight
people, including three children.

In the Dominican Republic, officials said three people were missing, and
confirmed the death of the mayor of a town near Santo Domingo, who was
swept away as he tried to save another person from a flooded river.

No deaths or injuries were reported in Cuba, which got off lightly when
the storm crossed its eastern flank instead of raking up the length of
the island as originally predicted.

In Mississippi, Robert Latham, the director of the state's emergency
management agency, urged residents to get prepared for the storm's
possible arrival.

"This is important to remember, this is a huge storm," he said. "I don't
have to tell you what a storm like that can do." (Additional reporting

Well, Hurricane Isaac has made landfall in southeastern Louisiana, and the Weather Channel is saying that it may make another landfall because the eye is back over water.

Hurricane Isaac makes landfall in southeastern Louisiana

Re: Storm Isaac heads for U.S. Gulf Coast, hurricane warning issued*

I'm on the Northshore of Louisiana called St. Tammany parish. The problem with Isaac is how slow moving it is. Over 400 thousand people are without power. I still have electricity but the rain that was on the southshore in New Orleans is now headed my way. I should be fine with all the rain, except for wind which shouldn't be as strong as it was in New Orleans except I have 2 acres and am surrounded by trees. The main reason I would like for you all to pray for some people who I heard on the radio that are stranded in their attic, they tried to evacuate but a car part broke down and weren't able to get out. I heard the ladies name is Melanie, her husband and her mother who has heart trouble have 10 feet of water up to the ceiling in their house. They have a cell phone and are waiting for rescue, but because of the wind no one is able to get to them right now. God knows who they are please pray that they stay safe and the water does not rise any higher till they can be rescued. The eye of the storm is headed my way now, it will be wind and rain all day they said. I hope I posted this right. It was my first time. I come home from work everyday and look at the sight. I think Texas Sue mentioned she had relatives in Slidell, La. Thats 20-30 minutes from me which is St. Tammany Parish also. In Christ's name I ask you all to pray for those in need. Thank you.................Desiree'

Re: Storm Isaac heads for U.S. Gulf Coast, hurricane warning issued*

Desiree,

May the Lord protect you and yours, and keep you safe from all harm!

Lord protect those people whom are stranded in their homes, in their attics and cars, wherever they may be.
Send your Angels to protect them, keep them safe, and send helping hand as soon as possible. Keep your children safe under your wing until the coming of your Son and our Savior Jesus at the Rapture; in Jesus holy name I pray.

Prayerfully,

Valerie

Re: Storm Isaac heads for U.S. Gulf Coast, hurricane warning issued*

Those people I mentioned in the attic were recently rescued. The government wouldn't do it, but a man and his son know the area well that live there. Those 2 are saving people from their roofs. They said for Katrina they had only 8 inches in their house, but for Isaac 10 feet of water. It was because after Katrina a levee or something was to protect another area and because of it, those people ended up getting flooded. God has used the hands of those 2 men not to be afraid to rescue lives as well as prayers from the saints. Amen Thank you Valerie for your concern and prayers.

The wind is really bad here right now and will continue till about 8pm. I can hear branches falling and heard some crackling of the trees, getting real nervous when that happens. I just plead the blood of Jesus. I'll be glad when the rapture comes to be done with all this life. I hope its this year! My moms in Bay St. Louis, Ms. safe. When Katrina hit she lost everthing home and cars. People from churches all over the USA built her home again in 6 weeks. I need to hear from my daughter, can't get through to her, don't know if she lost electric or not or water, she's in a trailer. All I could do is leave message on her phone. I told her to come here last night. Some people who survived a category 5 Katrina are having it worst with a 1 Isaac. Love and blessing to all who pray and are concerned of others safety. May the Lord Jesus hear our plea!

Dam nears collapse due to Isaac; thousands reportedly evacuating

Re: Storm Isaac heads for U.S. Gulf Coast, hurricane warning issued*

Desiree' I am so sorry that I did not see your post last night. I am praying for you and your family now. Last night was my sister's birthday and celebrating her day took up most of the evening so I was not online for very long. Her daughter is the one in Slidell. I just talked to her and she said that daughter and son-in-law's house is fine even though there is some flooding in Slidell. Most of the flooding is in the part of the city closest to Lake Ponchetrane (I know that is not spelled correctly-sorry).

Slidell is also in St Tammany Parish. In what part of St Tammany do you live Desiree'? I heard there was flooding in Mandeville which is sad as it is such a lovely area. My father lived out his life in Covington in the north shore area. His old house is now an antique store in the historic district. Hope it is safe too. I know it is not a home anymore but several people sell things on consignment there and it is their living. It is so sad to see such devastation and to know that so many people are affected in such terrible ways. After flooding there is always the threat of disease, snakes, and so many other things. Some never get their lives back together again. So ready for Jesus to come and take His own home, out of the darkness and tragedy of this world.

Re: Storm Isaac heads for U.S. Gulf Coast, hurricane warning issued*

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU IN JESUS' NAME WHO PRAYED FOR US. All my family are safe and has elecric now, no damage. I am in Madisonville, La. 3 1/2 miles past the Tchfuncte river where all the flooding of 5 ft. water in the town hall and stores were. I am on high ground. I had electric but my phone connection was out, just got it back. I'm between Brewster Road and Hwy 22, a street called Perrilloux Road. One person who works with me had a tree fall on her house in Mandeville and had a house in LaPlace that her daughter lived in and got flooded. A cousin of mine in Slidell got flooded, but she is safe @ her daughters house in Slidell. My brothers girlfriends grown adult childs house got flooded in Buras, La. where they lost everything from Katrina, but they evacuated and are safe. Those people who yall prayed for were rescued, but there was a couple in their 40's who lived in Breakwaite the same area that were found in the kitchen deceased, I think it was a one story house. The dam that has damage was not my area that had to evacuate, it was about 35 minutes away from where I live. There are still so many people without electric, old people, children, hot humid weather, flooded damage homes, etc. just keep them in prayer for strength to overcome with Gods grace till he takes us home. Love to all of you who prayed and showed concern. May the Lord hold you in rememberance.

Re: Storm Isaac heads for U.S. Gulf Coast, hurricane warning issued*

DESIREE'

I'll continue to remember the people whom are still in need in my prayers!

I'm always grateful for those whom keep me, and this site in rememberance in their prayers too!

Praise God, thank you Jesus, for a mostly overall good report!
All Honor & Glory belongs to God whom answers prayers! Amen!
