This posting is dedicated to the forever memory and honor of Valerie, who was the founder of, and the inspiration for, this Web site.  The Web site will continue to operate in Valerie's remembrance, as requested by her family.  God bless!

The Monkees' Davy Jones died today--02.29.12!!!

I just heard on FoxNews, that Davy Jones died today of a heart attack in Florida.

Davy was my favorite of four The Monkees. I also got to meet him & Micky Dolenz inperson. Davy is the one guy for whom I didn't have to look up to...for I could actually look at him eye-to-eye b/c of his 5'3" frame (I stand 4'9"/10" tall). Micky, I met him at Paramount Studios, where my late Mom & I once worked.

If anyone knows Davy's age of his passing, then please by ALL means post it here. OK!? Thank you.

RIP Davy.

I heard today that he was 66 and that he died of a heart attack..

I too heard this on the news!
I did like the Monkee's when I was a teenager, and lost interest as years past. However, their songs etc. were good clean fun!

I'll be 65 come April, so Davy was a year older than me.

Valerie, I saw on FoxNews that Davy was born in 1945. That makes him one year older than me too...making us (you & me) practically the same age.

is what I saw on the above news channel. Wikipedia must have more on Davy, for us to check.

Btw, b/c he was a former jockey in England, and a horselover before entering show business...starring in the Broadway Musical--"Oliver" (based on Charles Dickens' novel "Oliver Twist") for which he played the "Artful Dodger." It's his love for horses & short 5'3" frame (I'm a petite 4'9"/10"), that turned me on to him.

Micky Dolenz, his fellow Monkee, was my other favorite, b/c I enjoyed him when he was a child star in Circus Boy, going by his real name--Mickey Braddock.

Since I was born in 1961, I was just a child when "The Monkees" aired. So I remember that show.

Oh thank you, Kathy G., for those The Monkees videos...and for the RIP Davy video too. It I especially liked b/c I wondered where Davy's soul is, and if whether or not in his waning days...if he accepted Jesus as his personal Saviour. I surely hope he did, don't you?

I like this version of Valleri, especially fancy guitar strumming music..oh my some of the versions out there by other singers, makes me want to change my name!!! Lol!!!
