1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

   For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Interpreting scripture to suit "us"!? No warnings! / More "comfort"!

If the Book of Revelation is "NOT" seen as a warning, then the
"comfortable" become MORE "comfortable"!!! In other words,
MANY Christians just lose the "fear of God" by ignoring or
re-interpreting God's Word to suit their own fans (denominations).

Exodus 20
20 Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. God has
come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you
to keep you from sinning.

Proverbs 8 (NIV1984)
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise;
do not ignore it.
34 Blessed is the man who listens to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.

35 For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the LORD.
36 But whoever fails to find me harms himself;
all who hate me love death.”

Revelation 1 (NIV1984)
Prologue
1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him
to show his servants what must soon take place. He
made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word
of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is
the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and
blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what
is written in it, because the time is near.
