This website on Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley, says that Judea is the area where Joshua drove Canaanites out of the land when Israel finally entered the promised land.

Jewish settlements have been built on land that was "uninhabited, uncultivated state-owned land". Speculation here, but perhaps the abomination, the antiChrist who sets himself up, will turn with fury at this settlement area. After all, the purpose in the beginning of clearing out Canaanite land was to do away with the abomination of worshipping false gods. Israel was to worship the true God in this place. ac wants himself to be worshiped.

another site brings up the point that after Joshua died, instead of keeping separate belief to only worship God, the Israelites mingled with Canaanite families and false gods. This time, when Israelites flee, it is to reject antiChrist rule and they flee to be separate to God and to survive. They will find out that God's salvation, Christ, is faithful...
