1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Christmas shopping

Hello all! I hope Thanksgiving was a blessed day for you. I went to some of the black Friday sales, but my heart is just not into it this year. I am almost always way ahead of the game but this year I am just starting my shopping. Every time I go to buy a gift I get this sinking feeling that I should not buy any....its driving me crazy!! If I wait too much longer I won't have Christmas for anyone!!
So I prayed on the subject and came up with a compromise that feels really right to me. This year I am putting together "Emergency" car kits for everyone I ususally get gifts for. It will be a tote full of things like first aid supplies, a Bible (they have them for a buck at the dollar store!)warm gloves, a flashlight, some matches, water bottle, granola bars, some basic helpful tools, etc. That felt right to me, plus it is a really useful gift!! If things go south before Christmas these supplies may really help someone!
Is anyone else having mental issues buying Christmas gifts this year or is it just me?

Re: Christmas shopping

That's exactly what I thought.....and people I think will really appreciate it as a gift. I was pleased when I settled on the idea, as I feel really good about buying things like that right now. I just can't bring myself to buy all the trendy newest items this year, I really feel led not to waste the money on items that will most likely be of no use very soon.
