1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Clue in Revelation 1

I was re-reading Revelation 1 the other day and something occurred to me that never had before.

In Revelation 1, John is on Earth at the isle of Patmos. Then in verse 10 "I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,"

The clue is "the Lord's Day" .....Has anybody else ever thought of this as a possible clue?

Because John hears Jesus behind him. Jesus gives him the letters to the seven churches. And then after the letters, in chapter 4 the picture of the rapture occurs in Rev 4:1-2 "After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”

2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne."

THis is a picture of the rapture! And remember John was on Earth, in the Spirit, on the Lord's Day!

So this is just something I noticed and wonder if the Lord is showing us the day of the week. Not sure but curious to hear others thoughts on this.

Re: Clue in Revelation 1

That's a good catch John. It's very possible to have a "Sunday Morning Rapture". Wouldn't that be something?

Re: Clue in Revelation 1

I always thought "The Lord's Day" was the same thing as teh "Day of the Lord" but I just found this by David Guzik over at BlueLetterBible

b. On the Lord’s Day: When is the Lord’s Day? Among the pagans of the Roman Empire, the first day of each month was called “Emperors Day” in honor of the Roman Emperor. Perhaps Christians proclaimed their allegiance to Jesus by honoring the first day of the week as their own Lord’s Day.

i. This is not the same term used for The Day of the Lord in the Old Testament, nor is it the same idea. The Book of Revelation will definitely deal with the idea of The Day of the Lord, but it doesn’t do it here.

Thankyou for this post!! This was encouraging to me! I think your onto something here!!!
