1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

reasons to be thankful on thanksgiving

good morning everyone and happy thanksgiving, I am getting together with family later today, like a lot of you, and I wanted to see if we could compile a list of all the things we are thankful for. I wanted to read some of the list to my family today and maybe you could do the same, because here in america I think everybody takes our wealth and health for granted. even as Christians we don't totally have the humble and grateful perspective that we should, so it would serve as a great reminder if we could make a list. I can start:

-Our Creator took on flesh and was killed so that we could live and He could have a bride

Re: reasons to be thankful on thanksgiving

Trevor you started with the tip top best reason of all to be thankful and I say amen!

I am thankful for the promise from Jesus in John 14 - "Let not your heart be troubled.........I go to prepare a place for you and if I go...... I will come again and receive you to Myself that where I Am you may be also."

I am thankful for Rapture Flight to Heaven where all of us hopeful and faith-filled watchers can gather and compare notes and hopes and dreams for our soon journey home. God Bless you all.

Re: reasons to be thankful on thanksgiving

DITTO!!! to T/Sue's above post!!!

I'm also thankful that Jesus worked it out for me that I will after all be spending Thanksgiving w/my family & friends @ our local a la cafeteria, which is the Golden Corral.

To think, I thought that I would spend this day alone.

That's why Romans 8:28 is one of many of my favorite verses...

And we know that all things work together for good to those whom love God, to those whom are called according to His purpose.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!!

Re: reasons to be thankful on thanksgiving

Trevor I thought your post was a great idea, but I suppose everyone was engaged with family and festivities yesterday. Hopefully, more will come in and say what they are thankful for today. There is so much, especially that God cares for us here and then has provided for us later. I am thankful for the blood of Jesus that not only washes away all of our sin, but keeps us and guards us from the attacks of the enemy as long as we are in this earth.

Re: reasons to be thankful on thanksgiving

I'm thankful that my family & once estranged two friends came together...and that we could all spend T'giving dinner together @ our favorite eatery. Plus, for my brother (after for what happened to him this last summer) being around too, to also celebrate Thanksgiving with us as well.

You see--I've been praying all along that this happen. For Jesus more answered answered my prayer in all fronts, and for that I am truly grateful.

s & Maranatha!
