1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

   For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

DIstractions distractions distractions,,,,pray pray pray pray

Please pray for all the distracted Christians. Satan is doing his thing to take their minds off the word of God.

I am feeling this myself with the Christmas season at hand. I am lusting after things off this world (an expensive pair of boots) and my mind as a result is not in Christ as it should be when these thoughts take over.

My mind keeps telling me to forget the boots and give the money to the church towards the furnace they need. I pray I will do this. I know I am not alone. There is nothing wrong with new boots but there is something wrong with the greed of this season. The absolute lust that takes our mind off of Christ Jesus.

Please pray for me

I'll pray for you Shannon. I know that my wife and others I know are just planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas, as if everything will happen as it always has. They might be right, but I still believe the rapture is imminent, especially since Israel has very little time left this year for optimal weather conditions in Iran for a military strike against their nuke sites. Keep your eyes on Jesus!

It is not always easy to live in this world yet not be a part of it. Most things I have no trouble giving up but as a woman I still feel that spirit of materialism tugging at me once in a while. How many boots does one need anyway.?
