1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Are Your Bags Packed

Stayed home this morning and joined Eagle Mountain church by webcast. Pastor George Pearsons was telling of how in September 2001 he and a group from the church were with Billye Brim in Russia for meetings there. The morning of September 11th they boarded planes to return to the USA, scheduled to land in New York city. No one knew what had happened there yet. He said he watched the path of the plane turn as they were over the ocean and they were taken to Dublin, Ireland where they waited for several days for permission to return to the United States. He talked about how kind the people there were to them.

But this is the part that hit my heart. He said they never unpacked because they had to be ready to leave at any moment. So for over a week they waited with packed suitcases. Then they were called and taken to the airport in several taxis because there were several of them. The driver of the cab they rode in spoke an Irish prayer over them when they got out of the cab. He was very nervous and shaking, but wanted to say the prayer over them. I thought that was very sweet and touching. This ordinary little Irish cab driver taking time to pray for his American passengers. In the airport when they entered, a lady began singing Amazing Grace over the intercom. Then a chaplain came over the intercom and read Psalm 46 over them. Such kindness and thoughtfulness toward these Americans and our country. God was honored and His name lifted up.

Their flight took them into Atlanta, Georgia instead of New York. George said when they got off the plane, pilots and stewardesses lined the airport with American flags in their hands, welcoming them home. He said, "It was so good to be home". All I could think of was when we finally reach heaven with our dear Jesus, it will be SO GOOD TO BE HOME.

This beginning of his message today just screamed RAPTURE, RAPTURE, RAPTURE to me. We are waiting like they did in Dublin, with our bags packed, waiting, knowing that we can be called for our trip at any time and we must be ready to move immediately when called. Then, finally, after this grueling time in the earth as evil escalates, the relief we will feel when we are welcomed by the angels and our Father. It will be so good to finally be HOME!

Re: Are Your Bags Packed

I'm ready, waiting, and raring to go, and the only thing I'm aiming to take with me is my dog.

Re: Are Your Bags Packed

I got my bags packed too and am cleaning up my room, paperwork....... my pets are already in heaven. I'll see them soon enough.

Re: Are Your Bags Packed

I've got previous pets waiting for me in Heaven, too, and I plan to introduce my current pet to them when they greet me.
