1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

9/11 10th anniversary: Stories from the embers "Let Us Never Forget"!

Videos - Stories from people whom were touched by 9/11 in a most profound way, which changed their lives forever!

Let us Never Forget for it changed all of our lives one way or another, and nothing has been the same since.

Pray that on Sept. 11, 2011, nothing happens...once was even too much!!! Over 3000 people lost their lives, many were injured, and many families lost loved ones.

I still remember not being able to move glued to the Television, when a News Report stated that a plane had just crashed, into the World trade center! My first thought was, what a terrible accident! However, when I saw the second plane do likewise, I was frozen to my seat, and speechless. I thought this can't be real, but I knew it my heart and mind it was. I prayed and I cried, when I saw people jumping out of the buildings...it was heartbreaking. My thoughts were, what's going to happen next....it was surreal!

When terrorist attacks closed American airspace on 9-11, 38 passenger planes were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland. The town and surrounding areas welcomed the 6,500 stranded passengers and crew as if they were family.

'I'm not saying I want to forget. I just don't need to be reminded': New Yorkers explain why they're LEAVING the city on 9/11 anniversary

For many it will be a time to stop and remember those who died.
But for thousands of New Yorkers the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks means something else entirely - a chance to forget.
A growing number living in the city have decided to leave rather than 'being forced to relive the horror of that terrible day'.

Re: 9/11 10th anniversary: Stories from the embers "Let Us Never Forget"!

I'm very surprised that from all members and mods here, not one person replied or responded to this thread.

I'm wondering to myself...why?

I'm not an American, I'm a Canadian, and this event touched me very deeply....! I will never forget it as long as I live. We lost 24 Canadians as well in 9/11.
We embraced and welcomed all the American flights detoured to Canada, when America Air Space was closed, and treated our neighbors like family, welcoming them into our homes. I know America would have done the same for us if it happened in our country.

I only put this thread up, to remember those whom died, and the first responders, which many died as well. Those people whom are alive and still suffer with COPD, and other diseases due to it.

I was hoping someone would share the way they felt that day, that change all of our lives every since.

Anyway, it's a very sober day, and a day to reflect on those that lost their lives, and those whom are still affected to this day because of that horrific day.

May Jesus come quickly, I'm so ready to leave!

Maranatha!

Valerie

Re: 9/11 10th anniversary: Stories from the embers "Let Us Never Forget"!

It's a day I will never forget, myself. I cannot bring myself to watch the commemoration, though, in large part because Obama may appear in parts of it, and in part because prayer has been forbidden at the ceremonies. In the past, before Obama was elected, I never failed to watch the yearly events. Thankfully, there was a short video in church this morning commemorating some of the heroes on that day.

Re: 9/11 10th anniversary: Stories from the embers "Let Us Never Forget"!

Thanks Kathy for sharing, now I know how you feel about it. I didn't watch it myself today, as I too know that prayer etc. is forbidden & of course Obama would be there, I'm not his fan either...therefore, I remember that day so long ago, and shortly afterwards, when so many turned to God and prayer! Look what has happened since, much more was lost as time past, and Obama was elected.

Yes there were many heroes whom risk their own lives to save others, and sadly some even lost their lives. May we never forget these people.

God Bless!

Valerie
