I we know USGS always seems to want to downgrade major earthquakes, well they actually upgraded the last major one in Peru to a 7.0, which is hard to believe, but most of major earthquakes are downgraded.

Well anyway I did some digging and finally came across a site by "Hong Kong Observatory", and you can follow it on "Twitter", you don't have to sign up if you don't want to but you can keep track of all the earthquakes that measure 6.0 or more. They seem to not downgrade most of what has occurred in the last 3 months, other than the Peru quake at 6.7, don't know why.

But anyway I was curious to see if major earthquakes measuring at 6.0 or more that have actually increased in the last 3 months and YES they have!

In the month of June, I counted 15, then in July I counted 20, now in August there are already 21!!

This is a new site that is still in trial, but check it out and see for yourself. Just another tool to use to keep up with whats really going on.
