1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

inching closer to unified government

"Fair use for educational and discussion purposes"
Saw this today proposed EU government

France and Germany agree on a proposed solution to economic and political EU difficulties. They suggest a new government made up of the head of state of each EU member. This new group would meet twice a year and have one person over them all, a president.


Sounds like a beast to me.

I agree, but that beast is not going to be a so-called American. The United States doesn't even belong to the European Union; in fact, it's not even a European nation.

Not implying that an American will be part of it.

The system sounds beastly to me. What have nations done in the past when they needed more money and prestige? They look around for enemies, to point the finger at someone else instead of judging their own behaviour and looking at how their home country got into whatever domestic troubles it is in.
They go to war. Put people to work in armaments, "security", military, fight an enemy and then call on everyone to be loyal.
If the EU has a president over the heads of nations, this puts so much more power in the hands of one person. The people in these nations will have about as much say over policy as we do, meaning useless votes.

If the President and heads of EU nations that make up this new government are against Israel, it would be a unified multination force to fight Israel perhaps on the voice of one person rather than trying to build a coalition. Easier to come against Israel or anyone else. I am surprised at the development. Both on a military aspect and on an economic one. Why Germany would want to bail other countries rather than take care of its own is beyond me. They are better off financially than Greece for example.

But as far as end times goes, I think it is another piece of the puzzle that just went into place to set nations up for the endtime fight. Obama's famous speech was from Berlin, Germany. Could Germany play a surprising role in endtimes? Time will tell. My prayers are for God's kingdom to come and His will to be done, which I am sure will look different and play out different than any man made scheme.
