1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Prayer request re: an adoption

Hi Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus!

As we watch for the call from our Lord Christ Jesus, we are also supposed to work our daily life, help others, and of course continue to watch, pray and look to the Lord in all things.

Well one of those things for me.....my calling as it is, is to adopt a child and raise the child to know the love of Christ.

I have an adult son that I gave birth to some 18yrs ago now. But even when he was a small boy I knew that I wanted to adopt. Its been something that has been long prayed over and considered before the Lord carried me through the cancer treatment and after.

I have been a foster parent for over 2 years now, and at the end of last year made moves to be prayerfully matched with a girl. I didn't know at the time who it would be, but as it turns out I met a nine year old girl on April 30th and the 'matching meeting' is today.

In foster care, when they want to place a child with a family with the ultimate goal of adoption, they often have what is called a matching meeting. Several adoption workers attend and decide between two or more families who is best suited to meet the needs of the child. That is where I stand.

Today they will decide between one other family and mine, who is best suited to meet this childs needs.

My prayer request to you brothers and sisters is that whatever the decision, that this be for His glory, that this child be raised to know Him and that she go through the transition to a forever family with joy and stablility and most of all love.

I would also ask that if I am not selected that the Lord touch my heart so that I not be discouraged, so that I may even more strongly focus my all on Him, and that the Lord put on my heart a joy whatever the outcome.

In His wonderful, holy, perfect name I pray,

Amen

Prayer request re: an adoption

Praying for you Robin!

May God's will be done, for He knows what is in the best interest of all involved!

I pray since you want to raise the child to know Jesus, may God favor you, in this case, accordingly!

If that's not his plan may He comfort you and let you know that all is well!

Prayerfully,

Valerie
