1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Last WW1 Veteran dies

You probably have heard about Claude Choules, the last WW1 veteran, who past away last week in Western Australia.

Matthew 24 vs 7 talks about nations and kingdoms rising against each other in War...I think that WW1 was evidence and perhaps the fulfilment of that part of scripture (at least, I've heard preachers suggest it is)

I can't help think about vs 34 that assures us that this generation will not pass until all things take place.

All WW1 soldiers are deceased, and that generation of war vets has closed. I wonder if we are on the cusp of something... BIG, it sure looks that way to me.

getting more excited by the day.

Re: Last WW1 Veteran dies

David,

Yes we did hear that on the TV news broadcast, he lived to be 110 years old.

Wow, that was a long life in our times, a Methusalah in our era.

Thanks for sharing!

Blessings!

Valerie

Re: Last WW1 Veteran dies

Hi there.

Joshua also lived to 110...

World War 1 began on 9 Av 1914.
The first 9th of Av significance involved Joshua at Kadesh Barnea resulting in the 40 year wilderness wandering.

Just an outside thought here. Maybe 110 years is the Joshua-generational span from 1914 to close it all up.?
