1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing

Stop .....

Stop.... for a moment and think about the worst pain you every suffered in your life, and then multiply it 100 times plus, this is just a estimate, of how much the Lord had suffered on the cross.

Jesus hung on the cross for about 6 hours, suffering for yours and my sins. Six hours of suffering, with the pain worsing as time past, with breathing getting much more difficult. If the Lord's suffering isn't heartwrenching I don't know what is!!! I had a vision of Jesus hanging on the cross, before I came to know the Lord, I'll share the details in dreams & vision section. That vision changed me forever!

If you could see the look on the Lord's face, and you know He's nailed to the cross because of your sins, you can not walk away without being deeply touched by such an experience; unless your heart is made of stone!

Please take time to read you Bible today, and take the time to meditate upon the words in scripture, they are not just words or fables, this really took place, and Jesus did it for you and me, before we were even born!

Good Friday, has always been a solemn day for me. Oh yes, there is good news for all because of the Lord's sacrifice, come whomsoever will to Jesus, for through his selfless sacrifice we are saved! However too many don't want to remember that it was our sins, that nailed the Lord to the cross. We were the cause of His pain and suffering, so in shame and in guilt, we quickly try to dismiss, that horrific ordeal out of our thoughts, because it is too hard to bear!

Stop....and cry tears for Jesus today! Tears of remorse for what our sinful actions were responsible for our Lord's Passion of great suffering! Remember to thank Him for taking our place on the cross on Good Friday! For there is no greater gift then to willing lay down your life for another! The Lord laid down His life for all of us! The least we can do is live for Him daily, and never forgetting the great price of suffering and death Jesus paid for in full for each one of us on Good Friday!

Thank you Jesus, for dying in my place for my sins!
I'm so sorry I sinned against you my Lord and my God!
Forgive me for the pain and suffering they caused on the cross! Jesus, I pray that your Holy Spirit will guide me to everlasting life with you and all the Angels & Saints! Amen!

Jesus Loves You All, He proved His love on Good Friday!

Re: Stop .....

Jhn 19:29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put [it] upon hyssop, and put [it] to his mouth.

Jhn 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Jhn 19:31 ¶ The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and [that] they might be taken away.

Jhn 19:32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

Jhn 19:33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

Jhn 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

Jhn 19:35 And he that saw [it] bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

Jhn 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

Jhn 19:37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Jhn 19:38 ¶ And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave [him] leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

Jhn 19:39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound [weight].

Jhn 19:40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

Jhn 19:41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

Jhn 19:42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation [day]; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

Re: Stop .....

Well, I just finished watching The Passion of the Christ a few minutes ago--I have it on DVD. There's nothing like watching that movie to get your mind on the horrific suffering that Jesus went through, which included the horrible brutality He was made to endure before He was even nailed. Tonight, my local church is going to have a Lord's Supper service, starting at 7:00, and which I plan to attend. Sunday morning, that same church will have an Easter cantata during the morning service.

Re: Stop .....

Thank you for that article Valerie. Perfect for today.

Re: Stop .....

Kathy,

How wonderful you took the time to reflect today on our Lord's suffering and remembered his selfless sacrifice. I hope others did as well in their own way.

Blessings in Christ,

Valerie

Re: Stop .....

Bob D.,

You're very welcome!

I agree it's very appropriate for this day, let us never forgot what Jesus did for all of us!

Thanks be to God!

Blessings in Christ!

Re: Stop .....

On Easter Sunday, I encourage everybody to pull up this thread, The Jesus Movie Online - Posted originally by Kathy G., and watch the Jesus movie online. If The Passion of the Christ is the appropriate movie to watch on Good Friday, then the Jesus movie has got to be the appropriate movie to watch on Easter Sunday!

Re: Stop .....

That's an excellent suggest Kathy, I watched that movie with my grandchildren last year...wonderful movie.

Thanks for bumping it up to the top!

Blessings!

Valerie
