Are people really finding fresh morels in NE Kansas? What type of location or habitat should someone look? I found a dozen, a couple of days ago, in heavy timber, that were dried out in Jefferson County. Do they still pop up this late in the season? What effect will the recent rain and cool weather have?
We started finding them last Friday and its been great pickins all week.They are on the edges of the woods,along fence rows.The dead elm trees are what we look for and its your best place to start.Great pickins to ya
