Well they may come up in Mo first , but I am not one to hunt the rocks of the ozarks. My favorite is the strip pits in southern Kansas first. Seems like they are about 2 weeks ahead of Missouri . Course I am in northern Mo = around Richmond , MO. Which is supposed to be the mushroom capital of the state . Duhh ! I have my doubts about that saying BWAHahhhaa!
WE GOT THE MOISTURE = WHERES THE HEAT . looks good
Dave I live near collins mo. I used to wait for the rain then the rt. temps until last year I got morels in the snow got pic to prove it maybe even to myself I have picked morels for 40+ years an never seen them in the snow I was totally amazed. I cant wait
Yes , I believe you for sure. Only once about 30 years ago , I remember picking them after a quick snow in April. Unlike last year there was not a frost which ruined a perfectly good season. I journeyed to my favorite spot and picked 2 gallons. Then the freeze hit. 10 days later I returned to the same spot, finding only a couple that I missed. They were is sad shape.
plenty of moisture now , wheres the heat ?
regards; Dave
We go hunting around Nevada, MO, do you know if they
are finding them around there yet? Haven't been watching the weather too awfully well so don't know if it has warmed up enough up there yet.
