I acutally like the little ones... they get nice and crunchy ... after you give them a nice coating of bread crumbs and then fry them in butter mmmmmmm...
I dont know what to say...I myself have picked almost 20 lbs.in the last week and I live just a few miles from the IA/MN border...Most have been the average size 3-5in but there have been some bigger and some smaller too... Good luck
you have whites (first yr. i v seen ever) then you have grays,blakes yellows. the darker the stronger. i like stronger taste. also theres moor ways to cook them.
