We hunt on about 45 ac of our private forest. This year was one of the best in long time and it isn't over yet I suppose. I would add a picture but can't figure how to do it.
We used to successfully morel hunt around Sailorville lake west of Polk City. Generally around the bike trail. Since we don't live there anymore I am giving it away. Point Google Earth to 41deg46'01.27" N and 93deg44'59.08" W. That is about the center of the area. We also used to find bunch of whites just behind houses on southwest side of the town.
I would like to add to wear long pants and long sleeves to limit ticks as much as possible. This is the worst tick year I remember.
I can't even find ticks! Did find some pitty shrooms on my desk this morning, so that's the best place I've found to hunt. Still trying, got a good feeling about this evening!
