Just moved to the Pontiac, IL area and don't really know much about the area. Does anybody know anything about this area, good places to look, etc. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, the woods are a great place to start. bascially you will find them around trees in the woods. sometimes you can find them on ebay, and if that is not sufficent, you might call pizza hut and order some mushrooms on a pizza....that's always tasty!!!

CHECK THIS OUT, GO TO WWW.DNR.STATE.IL.US. ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAGE CLICK STATE PARKS, CLICK ON THE REGION YOU IN, LOOK AND SEE IF THERE ARE ANY STATE PARKS AR FISH AND WILDLIFE ARES NEAR YOU. YOU CAN COLLECT MUSHROOMS FROM THESE PLACES, YOU CAN NOT TAKE ANYTHING FROM A NATURE PRESERVE THOUGH. MOST OF THE PARKS WILL HAVE HIKING TRAILS SO PICK UP A MAP AT THE VISITORS CENTER WHERE YOU GO AND GET IN THERE! HOPE THIS HELPS.
