I recently moved to Conn. from Indiana and am wondering how the morel population is out here. I would hate to book a flight home just to get some morels, it would be worth it though. Thanks, Jim
Hey Jim. I,m not sure where you are in conneticut. I,m in Western Mass in Hinsdale. I,ve been going out after mushrooms seriously for the past 5 years. the morels are here but are very hard to locate. I just go out and look at certain places some of the old timers tell me about or run across them when I,m out looking for fiddleheads and leeks. There out there but not like places in Michigan and the other mid west states. Around here they start popping up around the first of May give or take a week and depending on the weather.
