I'm new to hunting morels this year and I went out today and saw one that was 7 or 8 inches across and about 9 inches high. The tip of it was rotted away so I didn't get it, but how much bigger than this can they get?
We have found shrooms as big as 10 to 12 inches, but they're usually not in very good shape. What you found were some nice mushrooms, and those are really fun to find - even though the little grays taste better in my opinion.
