Geography was taught in Room 8
And our teacher was sometimes irate
She'd say "Metamorphic Rock"
And we'd giggle and we'd mock
'Cause her teeth were far from being great!
Des Roberts would pick out the cream
To play for the hockey first team
It was no piece of cake
As arms and backs ached
But the sticks and the balls reigned supreme
Arts and Craft with a teacher called Shaw
Val kept us enchanted not bored
With her hands full of paint
She'd make us feel faint
It was something we all quite adored.
Prescot Grammar was simply the best
By virtue we'd passed the test
But at Whiston Central
They were drove quite mental
"A load of thickies!" we'd jest.
Two Websters, one Frank and one Fred
Put theories and facts in my head
But there were very few laughs
Learning physics and maths
And exams made my face turn red!
Nicknames? I recall quite a few,
"Chopper Hardwick" and "Beak" to name two;
But of all of the rest,
Quite by far I think best,
Was Mr Gray's "Billy the Jew".
Ste Greenall of Kappa once said
"My House is green and not red!"
Today he looks grand
With a pint in his hand
And a PGS cap on his head.
